“I Was Sad and One Day..” – Georgina Rodriguez Detailed How She Nearly Stopped Dating Cristiano Ronaldo in 2016 Due to Father’s Ailment, Who Spent a Decade in Prison

Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez have been among the most talked-about power couples in the world. Both have captivated the public with their love story and glamorous lifestyle. Together, they form a dynamic duo and often make headlines with their public appearances and lavish lifestyle.

It has been more than six years since they have been with each other. Both took their relationship to the next level, as they also have four kids together. They have been an inspiration to many, showcasing the power of love, success, and living life to the fullest. However, there was a time when the model stopped dating the CR7.

Georgina Rodriguez stopped dating Cristiano Ronaldo

The majority of Georgina Rodriguez’s life has been depicted in her famous docuseries, “I Am Georgina.” The 29-year-old has narrated her life in her documentary as a mother, influencer, businesswoman, and partner to Ronaldo. While the second season of the series was released earlier in March, Rodriguez also had some instances to brief in the first season. While revealing excruciating details, the model also revealed how she once considered stopping dating Ronaldo.

This came after her father, Jorge Rodriguez, had suffered a stroke back in 2016. The impact of Jorge’s illness reportedly had repercussions on the relationship between Georgina and Ronaldo. As stated by Daily Mail, she said, “Cristiano had a lot of games, the thing with my father also happened then. For a bit I was a little absent, well I was sad… and one day we ran into each other at another event and he asked me for dinner I thought ‘finally, my chance has come’.”

The former Madrid man also admitted that both had briefly paused their relationship during the time of her father’s stroke. “It wasn’t sudden. It took a bit, perhaps a couple of months, because during that time we kind of stopped seeing each other.” Unfortunately, his father died of the same illness in 2019, following his release from prison.

Georgina’s father spent a decade in prison

Georgina’s father Jorge Rodriguez, was involved in the illegal drug trade as a prominent figure dealing in cannabis and cocaine. He faced legal repercussions for his actions, including a failed smuggling attempt of cocaine valued at over $100,000 from Spain to France in 2003.

Initially sentenced to 11 years in prison, he got free in 2008. But later, he was convicted again for smuggling approximately $1.2 million worth of cannabis resin from Morocco to Spain. Finally, he got free in 2013, thus, marking the end of his prison time. However, after getting out of jail, he became ill and eventually passed away in 2019. Georgina reportedly refused to meet her dying father even once after meeting Ronaldo.
