The most loved reunion in soccer was abruptly short-lived. When Cristiano Ronaldo rejoined one of the most successful teams in the Premier League, everyone expected them to create a juggernaut. But with Ronaldo’s feud with Erik ten Hag, it was the fans who were left in despair. However, while both parties were in a heated mood after the split, one person who seemed to be pleased about going out of Manchester was Georgina Rodriguez.

The latest season of I am Georgina on Netflix gave a glimpse of how Rodriguez felt when CR7 moved out of Europe. “When Cristiano told me that he’d be playing for Al Nassr, I was so relieved. Because I really wanted to leave Manchester,” Georgina said in her documentary, hinting that it was enough for her in Manchester with all the drama that took place. Yet, with the influence of the star, she knew they would land somewhere better.

The Spanish model further said, “I knew something great was in our future. We were so excited.” After all the years in Europe, the 30-year-old’s desire to move to a new continent was evident. However, the move to Saudi came with its challenges initially and the family had to adapt. It was also reported that the Argentina-born wanted to go back to Madrid mid-last year. It was the place that she loved the most among all the clubs Ronaldo played at suggested talks.

However, the new location provided Ronaldo and his girlfriend with greater opportunities compared to Manchester. From the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner striking a $200 million deal to Georgina enjoying the grandest of lifestyles, the Middle East has been a mesmerizing venture.

Therefore, the urge to move away from Old Trafford appears to be her love for a new adventure rather than any hard feelings about Manchester United.

A time when Georgina Rodriguez loved Manchester life too

Georgina Rodriguez and Cristiano Ronaldo had major disappointments in the latter part of his United spell. But the WAG also had her share of good times in the English city. At the beginning of 2022, Rodriguez preferred Manchester over Turin, stating, “The good thing is that we live nearer the children’s school. In Italy, we lived further away. I’m living my dream right now,’ appreciating their time then.

Later, things took a drastic turn after Ronaldo’s first season, as ten Hag reportedly benched him. This further led the 39-year-old to claim quite a few things about United’s environment leading to the contract termination.

Regardless, both the influencer and the striker cherish his Manchester United spell. Georgina gave the Portuguese a stunning tribute. She wore his historic #7 jersey from his United days at the Paris Fashion Week earlier this year. While Cristiano wrote a message “for the love of my life,” the fans were taken back to a nostalgic trip into the iconic era.

However, the couple have settled well in Riyadh, and are living the high life. And where they would stay in Saudi after his contract ends in 2025 has to be seen. Probably a last dance with Sporting Lisbon?
