In a recent interview with The Times, Mangan opened up about the emotional toll that the diagnosis had taken on her. However, it turns out, that Reynolds was not only aware of the situation, but he also took the time to reach out to the couple via Facetime. The soccer star’s wife admitted that while she tried to put on a brave front, the reality of the situation was a living nightmare.

 “No word of a lie, I was planning my funeral as I was doing those night feeds,” said Mangan. “I was crying silently. It was a really low time. A living nightmare.” Reynolds, however, did not simply offer his sympathies but also suggested the couple seek a second opinion from a leading neurosurgeon in New York.

The couple wasted no time in taking the chance, and the doctor’s recommendation was to perform a biopsy on Mangan’s brain. Six weeks after the operation, the couple received the news they had been desperately hoping for – the tumor was benign.

It was a moment of mixed emotions for Mangan as she revealed, “I was initially in shock and disbelief.” The actions of Ryan Reynolds in this situation truly helped provide a positive outcome. As a result, the couple is now enjoying a joyful life with their child, and Anthony Forde is wholeheartedly back to his Wrexham duties.
