“I Was Injured…” – Cristiano Ronaldo Laughs Away Injury Scare After Scoring His First Goal for Al Nassr in 2024

Cristiano Ronaldo is back with a bang. Just hours ago, the Portuguese superstar helped his side ace the Leg 1 test against Al Fayha in the AFC Champions League RO16 by scoring the only goal of the night. Although concerns were raised before the match regarding his injury, Ronaldo swiftly put those fears to rest, laughing off any concerns with a confident declaration, ‘I am not injured.’

After he played the 90+10 minutes in the final of the Riyadh Season Cup against Al Hilal, signs indicated that the player was injured to face Al Fayha. However, a sigh of relief was given after he once again managed to finish the whole game. Following the match, Ronaldo was asked if he was facing any troubles, to which he replied, “I was injured, but now I am not injured,” with a big laugh. Certainly, CR7 denying his injury would be no less than music to the ears of Al Nassr fans.

Ronaldo’s earlier injury not only led to the cancellation of the friendly China tour but also forced him to miss the last dance with Lionel Messi. Yet, it appears that he is now fully available for Al Nassr. Notably, it took 81 minutes for the Knights of Najd to break the deadlock. Perhaps the absence of Sadio Mane might be the reason Luis Castro’s side lacked firepower in the attack. Nevertheless, that didn’t stop Ronaldo from dominating last night and reaching a significant landmark.

Last night’s match held great significance for Cristiano Ronaldo. Aside from scoring his first goal of 2024, the 39YO made his 1000th club appearance of his career. Although the first half was a bit slow for him and Al Nassr, momentum was gained in the second half as he ended the match with a winning goal, 3 shots on target, and a 91% pass accuracy. In fact, he wasn’t the only one who shined in last night’s match.
