Emotions ran high last night at the Etihad Stadium during the encounter between Manchester City and Brentford. The Cityzens were able to clinch a narrow victory, courtesy of a 71st-minute strike from Erling Haaland. While fans in the stands erupted with joy and celebrated, Pep Guardiola caught attention with an unexpected kicking gesture. The Spaniard quickly came to explain his unorthodox celebration while humorously asserting that his foot was also ‘perfect.

After all the team’s performance-related questions were asked, a journalist urged Pep Guardiola to open up about celebrating the 23-year-old’s goal by kicking the drinks cooler box. Interestingly, the City boss jokingly taunted, “I wanted water and it was not there.” While it left the whole room in stitches, the journalist wasn’t done. He further asked the tactician if his foot was okay. To which, the former Barcelona manager replied, “Yeah, perfect. No injury.” Indeed, it was quite an amusing response. After all, like the fans, even he enjoyed himself!

With the win in their midweek fixture, City are now back in the 2nd spot. With 56 points, they have sent Arsenal to 3rd place in the league table and lowered the gap against leaders Liverpool to just a single point. The Sky Blues covered up for the points they dropped against Chelsea on Saturday. Notably, the past few results have kept them under scrutiny. Last night, they attempted 17 shots on goal during the first half and only managed to hit 6 of them on target. While Guardiola and Co. are celebrating the win, the focus has shifted to a much more concerning situation.

He revealed, “Kevin is okay it’s more caution, prevention that I think. He didn’t feel comfortable, the doctor says a little risk and said okay. After five months off we didn’t take any risk about that.” It seems that fans won’t be able to see much of KDB’s prowess on the pitch as City remains vigilant over his game-time. Let’s hope he gets back to 100%.
