Nearly never existed: Cristiano Ronaldo!
‘Ronaldo’ was released in 2015. It was a documentary film that was based on the life of a Portuguese star. In the documentary, Ronaldo’s mother spoke candidly about the soccer legend and his achievements. She also mentioned that she never wanted to have Ronaldo.
Ronaldo’s mother, Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro, first revealed this in her biography, Madre Coraje‘, in 2014. She revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo was an unwanted child. But the doctors never supported her decision. Eventually, Maria was not allowed to abort.

Ronaldo’s mother also mentioned that she never failed to drink warm ale daily. She used to over-exert herself every day by running unimaginable distances till she dropped dead. Ronaldo’s mother tried her level best to not have a 4 baby.
She quoted, “He was a child I wanted to abort. We laugh about it now and he says, ‘Now I am helping you all’”.
How was Ronaldo’s relationship with his dad?
A small portion of the documentary is about Ronaldo’s father. The Portuguese legend previously revealed that the bond he shared with his father was ‘complicated’. José Dinis Aveiro, Ronaldo’s father, had no connection at all to soccer.

His father used to be a military officer. José Dinis Aveiro spent a few critical years of his life fighting on the African continent. It was reported that Ronaldo’s father was severally affected by the time he spent serving in the military, especially the times he was in Angola and Mozambique.

Moreover, that was the main reason why he then turned into an alcoholic. The Portuguese star lost his father when he was just 20 years old. Ronaldo once broke down while talking about his father in an interview with Piers Morgan in 2019. He said, “I really don’t know my father 100 per cent. He was a drunk person. I never spoke with him, like a normal conversation. It was hard”.
While Cristiano Ronaldo is now one of the richest people in the world, his life was not always this luxurious. Ronaldo’s story just proves that everybody starts from zero. Very few people in the world are born with success.
