The world isn’t left in the dark about the lavish lifestyle that Ronaldo and his family live. The celebrity family has access to every luxury in the world and is blessed with everything. However, the Portuguese don’t let either of them take advantage of their affluence. This was revealed by Ronaldo last year when his son made an expensive demand.

Cristiano Ronaldo revealed humbling his son

In an interview back in 2022, Ronaldo revealed he doesn’t permit his eldest son, Cristiano Jr., to get a mobile phone for himself. Instead, the striker revealed he instilled the same values he was taught. “I think we have to take advantage of [technology] but we shouldn’t be obsessed with it,” said the former Madrid man.

“For example, I can give you a small impression. My oldest child is going to be 12 years old soon and he asks me every time, ‘Daddy, can I have a phone, can I have a phone, can I have a phone,’ I say to him, ‘Cristiano, you have time.’” The striker insisted that this generation is quite ahead of its time, and they should put technology to good use.

When his son demanded an iPhone, he said, “I ask him to wait for the future. One day, Junior asked me for an iPhone to call me but I told him no. If he wants to call me he should through his grandmother.” The five-time Ballon d’Or winner humbled his son, saying, “It’s not easy getting anything he wants.”

Advising his son to work hard

Back in 2019, Ronaldo visited Portugal, and he also took Cristiano Jr. with him. The 38-year-old’s former roommate, Paixao, also accompanied them during the visit. He took his son to the old room where he used to live back in his childhood. Ronaldo then revealed that his son was shocked to see where his dad lived.

He revealed his kids’ disbelief that “everything today is easy” and “things fall from the sky.” While sharing the story, he also had a few wise words. “And this is what I try to instill in Cristiano Jr. and whenever I visit schools. What I try to get across is today, having talent is not enough. What I try to passing on kids is with hard work and dedication, you can achieve anything you want.”
