“I Started to Make My Own Happy Ending”: Shakira Reflects on Unexpected Life Events After Messy Breakup With Gerard Pique

In a recent conversation with Canal Estrellas, Shakira did not shy away from talking about her personal life. She decided to talk about the sensitive topic openly. Shakira admitted that her ultimate goal in life was something completely different. She said, “I imagined himself on a farm, raising chickens, milking cows, and watching his children grow up”, as transcribed and translated by Hola.

She then confessed about getting carried away with the joys of life. Shakira never expected anything to go wrong considering the ‘perfect’ relationship she had with Gerard Pique. She continued, “I started to make my own happy ending, but somehow life has decided to put me in sometimes awkward positions to give me an understanding of how others live”. The 46-year-old then made the shocking claim that she feels like a cat.

Because of the ever-changing lifestyle over the years, she felt that those phases were separate lives in themselves. The singer assertively said, “Like the cat, I’m in my sixth or seventh life, I don’t know. I have lived wealth, poverty, flattery, discrimination… I’m always changing my point of view. What else do I need?”. She concluded, “In the end that is life”.

The Waka-Waka singer currently lives alone with her children in Spain in the same house the happy family once lived in.

What was the unexpected turn of Shakira’s life?

Shakira and Pique met back in 2010 while shooting for ‘Waka-Waka’. The Colombian star admitted that she immediately took a liking to Pique. The former celebrity couple then started dating and had two children eventually. Years later, the internet was flooded with reports regarding Pique’s infidelity with a 23-year-old. To every fan’s disgust, those reports turned out to be true.

The celebrity couple split and the fairy tale was sadly over. Months later, the Latin American star also called that time the ‘darkest phase’ of her life. The fans were and will continue to be by Shakira’s side during her tough phase. But the Hips Don’t Lie singer has now seemingly gotten passed the initial struggle of a breakup.

The Latin Grammy award winner has evidently used her music as a means to vent out her emotional baggage. And that same music has currently gone viral and given the singer the ‘re-peak’ of her music career.
