First times hold a distinct charm in the life of a soccer player. Be it signing a first professional contract or scoring the first goal, these moments remain memorable milestones. In a similar vein, former soccer player Micah Richards makes an unexpected revelation regarding his first interview, frankly admitting to dropping the F-bomb in the heat of the moment.

The confession came during the recent CBS Sports Golazo show, where Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, and Kate Abdo trolled Micah Richards after finding out he committed the worst dive in soccer history during his time at Aston Villa.

Micah Richards’ grilling was initiated by Carragher, who questioned Manchester City youngster Micah Hamilton for making an unnecessary dive in last night’s Champions League game against Crvena zvezda. After showing Hamilton’s diving clip, Carragher jokingly pointed out that it was Richards who inspired the 20-year-old to make that dive. Then Abdo showed the pundit’s diving clip from when he was in Aston Villa playing against Stoke City, to which all laughed. That wasn’t the end, as Abdo asked about the pundit’s first interview. Interestingly, he replied, “I might have sworn. I said the F-bomb.”

The commentator explained his actions. “I was just so excited, but I was only 17. He’s 20, so a lot more mature than me.” Notably, the reference to maturity is in terms of mentality because, in the first interview where Richards admits to swearing, Hamilton, on the other hand, showered praise and simply reacted to his debut. Either way, it is quite an interesting revelation from the former Manchester City defender. Meanwhile, Hamilton was the star of the show last night.

Yesterday, Manchester City clinched a 3-2 victory against Crvena zvezda with the help of their reserve stars. Micah Hamilton broke the deadlock for City in just the 19th minute by scoring on his debut. Interestingly, he is the same ball boy to whom Pep Guardiola was spotted giving instructions in a Premier League match six years ago.

Meanwhile, Oscar Bobb doubled City’s lead in the second half, but the home side also broke their deadlock. Finally, outcast midfielder Kalvin Philips scored from the spot as he played his full game. The Serbian side added a second in injury time, but it was too late to rally for a comeback. With this win, City has curtained the group stage with a perfect record win.
