Over 10 days have passed since the winter transfer window commenced. Among clubs worldwide, it’s Paris Saint-Germain that looks to add more firepower to their ranks. Having signed young center-back Lucas Beraldo, they have now been linked to signing Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich. However, the Parisian president Nasser Al Khelaifi has refuted the rumors due to his ‘good relations’ with the German club.
The candid revelation came during a lengthy chat with BFM RMC Sport, where the chairman of Qatar Sports Investments discussed his beloved team. Interestingly, the host asked him about the rumors linking German international Joshua Kimmich to Parc des Princes. To that, Al-Khelaifi replied, “Listen, I don’t want to talk about a player from another club because I respect Bayern Munich a lot. I have very good relations with Bayern and [Karl-Heinz] Rummenigge too. If we have an interest in a player, we will talk about it with the club.”
However, the PSG president didn’t rule out that Lucas Beraldo would be his last signing. “But the truth is that today we are looking at the transfer window. We know that the transfer window is difficult but we look at each possibility, how we can and how we want to develop to help the team progress,” he concluded. Kimmich has made 11 starts in Bundesliga, notching a goal and 3 assists.

He has also made two assists in 6 Champions League appearances, with two starts in the DFB Pokal and the DFL Supercup. Yet, the 28-year-old midfielder has been linked with leaving Allianz Arena. But for now, PSG is certainly out of the picture, as Al Khelaifi has cleared the air surrounding Kimmich. However, he might be closing in on another team.
