The two legends have enjoyed significant fame and have won numerous accolades. Even today, their names come up in debates as fans indulge in a war of words to decide who is better. But to this day, there isn’t a concrete answer to the question. While everyone has their own set of opinions about both players, it seems a notable player has joined the team, Messi.

Morocco star likes watching Cristiano Ronaldo cry

At times, several soccer players also join the GOAT debate to decide who among Messi and Ronaldo is best. Some fancy the Argentine, while others see Ronaldo as the real GOAT. But it seems Sofiane Boufal has no doubts about his choice.

Recently, the player sat down for an interview to share his World Cup experience. He endured a decent time with his national side, Morocco. Hence, while talking about his experience, the player was asked to join the popular debate, in which he made his feelings about Ronaldo clear.

“With all due respect to him, but I enjoyed seeing him cry, rather than us crying. I prefer Messi over Ronaldo.” The former Southampton man was clear about his GOAT, as he also reminisced about his meet-up against CR7. His national side clinched a narrow win against Portugal, thus eliminating the 2016 Euro winners from the quarter-finals.

Morocco enjoyed a decent spell at the 2022 World Cup, as they become the first African team to reach the semi-finals. However, they were eliminated by the 2018 World Champions France, thus ending their magical spell.

While Ronaldo enjoyed a great time with his national camp during the European qualifiers, the player returned to his domestic side. But it seems all his good mood got tarnished after flying back to Saudi Arabia. The skipper and his compatriots continue to struggle in the league, as they recently endured a goalless draw against Al Feiha. They are now three points away from their fierce rivals, Al-Ittihad.
