“I Love You Messi” – 15X Grammy Winner Adele Goes Gaga Over Lionel Messi’s Argentina, Thanks God for Their Win

Lionel Messi is one of the biggest names in the soccer world. He has secured almost every record to his name. After serving the game for more than 2 decades, Messi is now playing in, probably, his last World Cup ever. His team and fans want him to win this prestigious tournament once, after narrowly missing out in 2014. His fanbase is huge and has a lot of celebrities in it. However, none will be more famous than the English singer and songwriter, Adele, who recently showcased her love for Messi after Argentina’s quarterfinal victory.

Argentina started its campaign by scaring all of its fans as they lost to Saudi Arabia in their first group-stage match. However, the team has steadied itself and is now in the semifinals. Apart from winning matches, Messi also won the hearts of soccer fans all around the world with his recent performances.

While other teams are giving underwhelming performances, Argentina turned the gears on after losing the first match and Messi is leading the team straight to the finals.

Adele talks about Lionel Messi

While Messi certainly has some high-profile fans, one name recently got added to the list. 15 times Grammy award winner Adele talked about Messi in her recent concert. Her fans had encircled her and talked about her thoughts about Argentina winning against the Netherlands.

She said, “Thank God Argentina won on penalties. I love you, Messi, I love you.”

This statement came after Argentina beat the Netherlands in a very close and heated match. With this win, Messi has come one step closer to winning the trophy.

A record-breaking game against the Netherlands

The match began normally, but in the 35th minute, Messi gave a pass to Nahuel Molina, which he easily converted into a goal.

That was his 5th assist in the knockout stages of the world cup. He has surpassed Pele, who previously had the record of 4 assists. After that, Messi converted a penalty in the 73rd minute and became the leading goal scorer for Argentina in the World Cup. While everybody thought the match was over, Wout Weghorst had other plans.

Somehow, the match got into a shootout after two quick goals and an unimaginable 17 yellow cards. In the end, Emiliano Martinez became the hero and kept Argentina in the tournament as he made some fantastic saves in the penalty shootout.
