Inter Miami has struggled to find their footing in the absence of Lionel Messi. The David Beckham-owned side in the absence of La Pulga has managed to win just 2 out of their last 6 games. While fans have been clamoring for the Argentine’s return, Inter Miami head coach Tata Martino is not willing to rush the situation. There have been a lot of speculations surrounding the return of Lionel Messi. Inter Miami fans are hoping that the star can find his way back to the team despite his injury to help them keep their playoff chances alive. However, head coach Tata Martino has repeated himself time and again, noting that the World Cup winner will only play when he’s 100% fit.
During a recent interview, Martino commented on the availability of the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner. The Herons’ boss also added that he cannot risk playing the Argentine soccer legend right now, as he’d be responsible if something bad happened.

Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami is currently placed 13th on the points table, with 33 points to their name from 30 games. The side is currently four points behind 9th-placed Montreal with a one-game advantage. With the Herons set to face Chicago tomorrow, a win will propel the side to the 12th spot on the table, separating them and Montreal by a single point.
It will be interesting to see if Inter Miami can get the job done in the absence of their biggest superstar. The team will have to win all four remaining fixtures and then hope that teams ranked 9 to 12 all lose at least one of their games. With a tough ask ahead of Tata Martino’s men, the upcoming match against Montreal will be a must-watch for Miami fans.
