The Shakira and Gerard Pique breakup saga hasn’t been a pleasant one. More and more fuel has been added to the fire of this controversial split as Shakira has been releasing songs, taking shots at ex-boyfriend Pique and his new girlfriend Clara Chia Marti in January.

The Queen of Latin Pop released a diss track with Argentine producer Bizarrap taking shots at ex-boyfriend Pique and his new girlfriend Clara Chia Marti in January. The song became an instant hit, topping charts and breaking viewership records on YouTube. There’s no doubt that the song has been well received by the fans, but some are not big fans. One of them is a Spanish singer with 2x platinum discs, Shaila Durcal.

Shaila Durcal showed her support for Pique. “I liked the Twingo thing,” she said about the car in which Gerard Piqué has been seen driving around Barcelona. This choice was a clap back to specific lyrics from the song released by Shakira, “you traded a Ferrari for a Twingo”.

She further added, “I have had an upbringing that my parents have always taught me to always maintain that privacy of one’s life, share the things that you want to share, obviously, but I believe that there is a very thin barrier that must not be crossed”.

Durcal also believes Shakira crossed the line with her song. “You can do heartbreak songs, but get to that point,” she said.“I personally don’t like it”. It is clear that Shaila Durcal is not a big fan of Shakira’s diss track. However, she is not the only one who slammed the Colombian singer for her diss track.

It seems like not everyone is a big fan of Shakira’s ‘Music Session #53′ diss track. Spanish music legend Miguel Rios is also one of many to speak out against the song, calling it “sh*t” and “horrible”. Rios went on a full rant about the track, expressing his surprise at its popularity.

“It seems to me the most miserable part of cultural communication, that it serves as revenge for something particular, but that people are also so interested in it,” he said. Miguel Rios is considered the pioneer of Spanish rock and roll. His criticism of Shakira’s diss track is sure to carry some weight.
