Now that the international break is over, we can see some advances in the Lionel Messi to Inter Miami episode. Messi’s contract with PSG was ending this month. The Argentine was looking for a reunion with FC Barcelona, but the club’s financial situation came as a stumbling block.

To sort out his future to the earliest, he decided to accept Inter Miami’s offer that would see him earn around $54 million salary a year. It will make him the highest-paid player in the US. Meanwhile, amid this saga, his former teammate would like him to join Gerard Pique‘s new soccer venture.

Aguero is the owner of one of the 12 teams in the Pique’s seven-a-side unique Kings League. His team took on his old foe, Iker Casillas’ team, 1K recently. We know Aguero for his goalscoring exploits during his professional career. The former Manchester City striker notched a hat-trick in the game that saw Kunisports beat 1K on penalties. He spoke with ESPN about Messi to the Kings League.

The interviewer asked former Argentina forward why Messi didn’t join Kunisports. “We haven’t spoken about it,” Aguero laughed. “I think it’s a little complicated at the moment with the schedule, but I hope one day he can play for us,” he added. The former Atletico Madrid talisman also named a few famous soccer stars who played at one point in Pique’s league.

“Many stars have played and more want to come. We’ve seen Chicharito [Javier Hernandez], Ronaldinho, Pirlo, Shevchenko and Casillas play for some of the other teams. There are a lot of players keen [to represent Kunisports], but obviously with the timing and the distances involved, it’s not been possible for a lot of them, but there are many ex-players interested in playing. It’s just a case of finding the dates,” Aguero said on various other stars waiting for opportunities to play in Kings League.

A popular internet personality, John Nellis, asked Pique about the famous soccer star on his contact list. The answer from the former Spanish defender surprised not only Nellis but fans, too. “Because, in football, I think Cristiano Ronaldo is the most followed in the world,” Pique said. Nellis asked him whether he has his number, and Pique nodded with “Yeah.”
