Premier League has reached its season finale and champions Manchester City is once again on its way to securing another title. The Sky Blues did themselves a great favor against Tottenham Hotspur with a 2-0 victory and will need a mandatory win against West Ham United on Sunday making it a do-or-die clash. But, despite such heroics, coach Pep Guardiola is not getting too overconfident as he cites a potential Deja vu on the final day citing his game against Aston Villa in 2022.

The Spanish coach, in the press conference, expressed the desire to dominate the game from the beginning although he feels that might not be possible. “We’d like to be 3-0 up after 10 minutes [vs West Ham] but it will not happen. I have a feeling it will be like Aston Villa [in 2022]. We are ready,” said Guardiola. City won a thriller in the final match in the 2022 season after being 2 goals down in the 70th minute. The former stars Ilkay Gundogan and Rodrigo scored in the space of 6 minutes giving them the title.

Meanwhile, the master tactician knows the tricks of the trade. Guardiola led the current champions to glory last year despite lagging during crucial times of the race. City is again on a similar path, currently competing against Arsenal who dropped major points in December. Yet, with an eight-game winning streak in the league lately, the treble-winners deserve due credit for their rise and also look favorites against a struggling Hammers defense.

Moreover, City will play their final game at the Etihad and go in as a clear favorite. The visitors have conceded seventy-one goals, the most number in the league barring the bottom three teams. However, the club has a few issues that could concern them on the last day.

Manchester City may have the advantage of a blistering attack on Sunday, but they would not take the game for granted. After their goalkeeper Ederson was ruled out, Pep Guardiola did not guarantee Kevin De Bruyne’s presence for the match. He stated, “We will see today. Yesterday he was off, today we train.” It was the Belgian who assisted Haaland in breaking the deadlock against Tottenham Hotspur but the coach may not want to risk him considering his previous injuries.

Additionally, players like Nathan Ake and Jack Grealish who did not play the last game despite being on the bench add more intrigue to Guardiola’s plan tomorrow. Will City win the West Ham clash to win their fourth league title on the trot? Let us know in the comments.
