Wrexham AFC’s pre-season U.S. tour is going really well. So far, they have played three out of four matches. While the first one against Chelsea may have been disappointing, the next two against LA Galaxy II and Manchester United came with wins. Speaking of the fixture against United, it brought some ups and downs.

While they may have managed to clinch an emphatic 3-1 victory against the Premier League side, it also got one of their star players injured. The injury of Paul Mullin must have stolen everyone’s good night’s sleep in Wrexham. However, the United boss slept like a baby.

It wasn’t the result everyone expected, but Wrexham was able to defeat United with a score of 3-1. Although many may defend the Red Devils’ loss by highlighting the absence of first-team players, it is still a huge victory for Ryan Reynolds’ side. Meanwhile, back in Manchester, a few must be upset with the loss, mostly their manager Erik Ten Hag.

However, it is quite the opposite. Following a press conference after the match, the Dutch manager was asked about the game. To which he surprisingly replied, “I got a good sleep [after Wrexham], we press again and we go again.” It seems like losing to the newly promoted fourth-division side doesn’t really affect them in any way.

In fact, the gaffer insisted that the loss didn’t steal his good night’s sleep. In fact, he says that the team will continue to push forward with their preparations. Ultimately, United were 2-1 down before the first half, with Marc Jurado scoring the game’s first and only goal. Things became much worse for them after the youngster, Daniel Gore, received a red card.

The severity of the injury necessitated urgent transportation to the hospital, while Bishop received a yellow card for his involvement in the collision. Later, after the match, manager Phil Parkinson revealed that Mulin had suffered a punctured lung. He also made some furious comments about the young United goalkeeper. Although as soon as the match ended, Bishop had already stated his apology for the incident, the Welsh side seemed furious with the situation of losing their talisman. Let’s hope he recovers quickly, as the new season is just around the corner.
