Wrexham AFC is the talk of the town. They won the Vanaram National League, gaining promotion to EFL League Two. More good news followed for the club. The Red Dragons got three spectacular sponsorship deals. And that wasn’t the last, as Notts County game hero Ben Foster signed a one-year contract extension with the club.
Currently, the club is busy sorting out the squad, with a transfer window on the horizon. However, amid this, the former England international feels he would reject any chance to join the Welsh club if the opportunity arrives.

Currently, England XI is gearing up to take on World XI in the Soccer Aid 2023 UNICEF game. It will take place at Old Trafford. And ahead of the game, two former England teammates spoke to DR SPORTS during the training. Chelsea legend Garry Cahill and Wrexham superstar Ben Foster faced several questions.
The hosts asked Cahill, who retired from soccer six months back, what would be his response if there’s a call from foster to come out of retirement and join him at Wrexham. Cahill laughed and responded, “I don’t think so.” I don’t think they’d have me mate to be fair. I don’t know if I can still trap a ball. I’ve not played for a while,” he added.

It seems like Cahill would decline the chance to join hands with the world’s third-oldest soccer club to team up with Foster. The hosts didn’t stop there. One of them asked if there was a similar call from Saudi Arabia. The question stunned the Aston Villa Academy graduate, and he just laughed in response without answering.
Saudi Arabia is making rounds off-late. They are offering massive deals to the players to lure them. It was obvious the hosts weren’t going to miss getting the thoughts of Chelsea legend on it. Meanwhile, Cahill’s rival Foster recently signed a new one-year deal with Wrexham.

It was the season-ending injury to first-choice goalkeeper Rob Lainton that made the club to go for Foster. The former Manchester United goalkeeper accepted a short-term deal to join the club until the end of the season. The decision proved a masterstroke, as Foster made a significant penalty save that helped them to win the National League and get a promotion.
With Foster out of contract, after the season ended, the Red Dragons wanted to use his experience in top divisions in the next season and offered him a new one-year deal. He took his time and finally accepted the offer to stay with Wrexham. It will be a significant move for the Welsh club ahead of the League Two season.
