Roy Keane has found himself in the hot seat after making controversial remarks about Erling Haaland. The Manchester United legend, who wasn’t happy with the Norwegian’s performance against Manchester City’s stalemate against Arsenal, called the striker a ‘League Two‘ player. In fact, backlash against Keane has intensified, with Leeds fan Terry dismissing his comments as ‘absolute rubbish,’ echoing Pep Guardiola’s claims.

This bold assertion came on the latest Talksport podcast, with hosts Alan Brazil and Ally McCoist calling Terry to express his thoughts on the pundit’s claims. Interestingly, the Yorkshire-based citizen stated, “If Haaland is a League Two player, then he’s a League Two bl**dy manager and a pundit.”

Terry insists that what the Irishman said is similar to anyone criticizing and calling him ‘rubbish‘ back in his playing days. Likewise, the Leeds-based fan expressed his confusion and claimed it’s Haaland’s job, lauding the City striker for being ‘better‘ than many.

Furthermore, when questioned about the 23-year-old’s ability to link up play outside the penalty area, Terry promptly dismissed the idea, acknowledging that City already possesses players with that skill. Instead, the fan took a sly dig at Keane, suggesting it’s the former manager who has a problem with everyone.

“I think it’s just Roy, a bit red. He pulls everyone to bits that’s what he does as a pundit. I don’t think he’s a very good pundit. I just don’t see how anybody can be negative against Haaland. The lad is phenomenal,” he concluded. Indeed, these are some bold claims from Terry, which are reminiscent of what Pep Guardiola said.

Pep Guardiola gave Roy Keane a taste of his own medicine

Ahead of the Aston Villa clash, Pep Guardiola disagreed with Roy Keane’s criticism of Erling Haaland. Speaking in the presser, he replied, “I do not agree with him, absolutely at all. It’s like he said, He’s a manager for a second or third league. He’s [Haaland] the best striker in the world and he helped us to win what we won last season.” Subsequently, Pep denied City drew against the Gunners because of Haaland.

Instead, the former Barcelona man acknowledged the presence of more players in the ‘final third’ to play an exceptional game. Not all are content with Roy Keane’s claims. Be that as it may, it would be fascinating to see if Keane has something to say in response to such scrutiny. Otherwise, he might be forced to eat up his own words if Haaland decides to prove him wrong in his own way.
