A club that once struggled to win is now sitting at the top of the league. The new owners, Ryan Reynolds, and Rob McElhenney, have given the fuel they needed. They are in contention to win the league and are in line for promotion.
Just like the club, the players have also come into the limelight as they continue to lead their side to glory. One of their star players, Paul Mullin, has taken the headlines thanks to his brilliant performance for the Dragons.
Wrexham star to end 15-year-drought
Paul Mullin has really shone for Wrexham. The talisman has caught the eye of the soccer world thanks to his brilliant form for the Reds. He even caught the attention of the Wales national team as it was merely impossible to ignore his dazzling form.
The national side was even considering calling up the striker for the 2024 Euro qualifiers. However, he was snubbed by Wales boss, Rob Page. However, he is still in line to receive a call-up, and the 28-year-old expressed his desire for the same.
“I’m from Liverpool but I don’t class myself English – far from it.” Mullin said. “I’d love to represent Wales. Being a part of Wrexham, I love the people of Wales. They’ve took me as one of their own, if I was lucky enough to get the opportunity I’d be ecstatic.”

The last time Wales called up a non-league soccer player was in 2008 when Wrexham’s Steve Evans was on Wales’s 2008 roster as he played against Russia. Now Mullin has that chance to break a 15-year-old drought. However, Rob Page settled with Millwall’s Tom Bradshaw and Ipswich’s striker, Nathan Broadhead. His side will be facing Croatia and Latvia in the upcoming qualifiers.
The race for accolades continues
Perhaps it isn’t the time for Mullin to get a call-up. However, that doesn’t stop him from continuing his goal-scoring record. He is the top-scorer for Phil Parkinson’s side and has been in terrific form. The striker is even in contention to win the golden boot, as he has scored 31 goals for the Red Dragons. Besides this, he is also the top scorer in the FA Cup, despite getting knocked out of the competition.
