Saudi Pro League club Al-Tai’s president was on Saudi Arabian TV Channel SBC recently. When asked about Messi, Turki Al-Dabaan said, “I do not want to sign a world-class player in my team who is saturated and watches the match from the stadium like Messi in front of Bayern Munich.”

Al-Dabaan was unimpressed with the performance of the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League round of 16. Bayern emerged 3-0 winners over two legs, and star-studded PSG wasn’t able to score a single goal. PSG signed Messi in their pursuit of the Champions League but was eliminated from the round of 16 in both seasons with Messi in the team.
Messi has often received criticism for his poor showing in the crunch games for PSG. PSG supporters have even booed the former Barcelona superstar. Last season he missed a crucial penalty against Real Madrid, and PSG was eventually eliminated by Los Blancos in the second leg.
