Benzema suffered this injury right before the start of the World Cup and has gone on to miss all the matches. However, there is still a possibility of him making an appearance in the finals of the competition.

Will Karim Benzema play in the final?

After the injury, a three-week timeline was set for Benzema to return to fitness. He could make a shock return to the squad if Deschamps needs to call upon his services. When asked about Benzema’s return, French coach, Didier Deschamps said: “I don’t really want to answer that question. Next question. I do apologize.”

Deschamps has not fully opened up about the French stars’ return. It’s still a topic of discussion, but even if the French striker is not called on for the finals, he could still pick up a World Cup winners’ medal if France wins the final.

Despite his injuries, the former World Cup winner did not rule Benzema out of the 26-man squad. This means that even though he has missed all the matches, he is still a part of the squad and could have his name written in France’s success if they go on to beat Argentina in the final.

Other players who were not part of the French squad

Benzema is not the only big name that is missing from the French national team due to injury. Other notable absentees include stars like Paul Pogba, Ngolo Kante, and Christopher Nkunku.  Although all these big names are missing, the French National team has still managed to perform well in the world cup.
