Being a professional athlete takes a lot of effort both on and off the ground. Whether it’s spending time with family or expanding business or having some time alone, players always have to think about the effect their decision can have on their game. The more you rise in your sport, the more you feel bound by the routine, as messing with something can easily harm your game and tarnish your legacy.

Whether it is injury or pregnancy, every decision has to be scrutinized, monitored, and planned according to the schedule. Alex Morgan talked about this in a recent podcast with Glennon Doyle.

Morgan is one of the best players in the world and had played 200 matches for USWNT winning 2 World Cups and an Olympic gold medal.

Alex Morgan talks about getting pregnant

While discussing the complexities of being a professional soccer player and a working mom brings she said, “I think motherhood, in general, is very hard… My husband Servando would love another kid but now we do have the World Cup next year so.. that’s tough to navigate motherhood and wanting to expand a family as an athlete and also quite frankly being on birth control and not wanting to be on birth control but feeling like I have to because I can’t get pregnant right now, that’s hard.

She also talks about how she finds herself lost sometimes while making the work-life balance. She is currently preparing for the upcoming soccer world cup and trying to give her best to the sport.

Alex Morgan’s amazing career

Alex Morgan is playing for USWNT for around 12 years and she is one of the biggest names on the team. She scored 119 goals for her national team and 74 goals for her club teams.
In 2015 Times reported Alex Morgan as the top-earning female soccer player in the USA. She got a spot in Time’s 100 most influential people of 2019. This came after her firm stands with kneeling during the anthem to show her support for Black Lives Matter. She was also a leading voice in USWNT VS US Soccer Federation, a battle for equal pay.

Alex Morgan had endorsed big brands like Nike, Panasonic, AT&T, McDonald’s, P&G, and Coca-Cola. She and her husband Servando also own several businesses and she released her autobiography in 2015 titled Breakaway- Beyond the Goal.
