A massive racism row hit Spanish soccer last weekend. Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr. was subject to racial chants from the Valencia fans at Mestalla throughout the game. Apart from the racist chants, another controversy that caught everyone’s eye was the straight red card to the Brazilian in the dying moments of the game.

The soccer fraternity came out in support of the Brazilian after the game. The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) President issued a sensational statement involving La Liga President after taking a drastic step over referees for the game.

Vinicius Jr. took center stage during the La Liga game between Valencia and Real Madrid at Mestalla. The starlet was subject to continuous racial abuse from the home fans even before the game started. The Brazilian was upset with Valencia fans and took to social media to make his feelings clear. La Liga President Javier Tebas came up with a response that caused a stir.

Meanwhile, RFEF President, Luis Rubiales, came up with a piece of advice for Vinicius Jr over the La Liga President’s statement. Rubiales said,?“I ask Vinicius to ignore the irresponsible behavior of Javier Tebas.” It was a stern response from Rubiales targeted at Tebas. Rubiales accepted that there is a severe problem in Spanish soccer. He also said that the Federation has set a goal of eradicating the issue permanently.?

The Brazilian Football Federation and the Brazilian President also sent some stern responses after Vinicius’ row. RFEF President also addressed it. He urged the Brazil Football President to visit Spain and discuss the solution to eradicate racism. Rubiales did his best to address all the issues in his press conference. However, his criticism of Tebas caught the eyes of the fans.

Fans will not only remember the game between Valencia and Real Madrid for racial chants but also for the red card Vinicius Jr. received. The Brazilian was involved in a brawl with Valencia players. VAR showed the images of aggression of the Real Madrid starlet that resulted in the expulsion of Vinicius Jr. However, various images of aggression from Valencia players surfaced on social media, alleging bias from the VAR.

Real Madrid came up with a stern official communication regarding the expulsion of the Brazilian. The club alleged VAR of not showing all images from the brawl. It resulted in RFEF taking a drastic step by dismissing six referees in charge of VAR during the Valencia and Real Madrid game.?
