In the statement, he said, “Over the last several weeks, during a moment I regret deeply, a 10-minute lapse in judgment resulted in an extortion plot. Since this person did not get what they wanted it has now become a public social media spectacle filled with more lies than any truth…” He called this moment of his life a “wake-up call”.

He then apologized to the American singer and promised, “to earn back the trust and love”. However, Becky G has not made a single comment on this entire controversy. She responded to the fans and Lletget in quite a subtle way. Last month, she decided to not wear her engagement ring to the iHeart Radio Music Awards. The jury is still out there on whether Becky G and Sebastian Lletget will continue as a couple.
