Wrexham will start their season tomorrow against MK Dons in the EFL League Two. They are in the higher leagues of England after 15 years and want to make a difference. One of the critical areas of concern, though, is the injury to Paul Mullin. The star striker suffered a lung puncture in a heavy collision against Manchester United goalkeeper Nathan Bishop. Needing oxygen on the pitch, Mullin will take around six-eight weeks to recover. Shortly thereafter, they embarked on a quest to acquire another striker, ultimately landing on James Norwood from Barnsley. However, everything isn’t falling into place.

The striker joined Oldham Athletic in a deal that shocked fans, having been linked with the Welsh soccer club previously. Ryan Reynolds would now need to switch his attentions to another striker, as he looks to bolster the attack after Mullin’s injury.

As Mullin will be out for several weeks, Norwood’s name came into the limelight. He scored 11 goals last season, helping Barnsley in the league. One fan pointed out in disbelief at how they pulled the transfer deal. The fan tweeted, “How the f**k have they pulled that off?” As Oldham compete in the National League, fans were left bewildered by the striker’s move to a lower league. Wrexham will now play in EFL League Two as Oldham couped a sensational asset.

Another person apparently tweeted a chant that features James Norwood. The chant goes, “James Norwood Wrexham fans are talking about you James Norwood Barnsley fans are talking about you But but you Signed for Oldham now you know that we’re gunna win the league, and you said that you wanted to be here and that you would never leave.”

Can Ryan Reynolds’ team cope with Mullin’s injury?

Missing a quality striker like Mullin would hurt the team. Consequently, the team would probably struggle to score goals in the opening matches of the season. He scored 46 goals in all competitions last season and became the focal point for the team to add goals. Replacing him would not be straightforward, but other players can step up in his absence.
