Cristiano Ronaldo has to be a fortunate man! In what has been a turbulent saga, the Italian court has finally ruled in the Al Nassr skipper’s favor. Cristiano sued his former club Juventus in 2023, complaining the club still owed him over $21.2 million in unpaid wages. However, the club denied the allegations, claiming the Portuguese talisman had signed a no-dues clause at the time of his exit.

Both sides have constantly presented their case in front of the court over the past few months. After hearing both the parties, the court has cited that Juventus owes the Portuguese a sum of his unpaid wages. According to reports, the court has asked the Italian club to pay Cristiano nearly $11m plus interest as ruled in court for the missing salary.

The ruling is a colossal blow for Juventus, who is going through a financial crisis. Paying close to $11 million to Cristiano Ronaldo will surely hurt the team’s balance books, with the side looking to bounce back after a poor string of seasons in the Italian top flight. The entire issue between the two stems from the time of the pandemic when clubs were forced to play behind closed doors. Cristiano Ronaldo attempted to alleviate the club’s financial strain by delaying his wage, which he then claimed was never paid by the club!

No love lost between Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus

The legal battle between Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus marks the latest chapter in their soured story. Cristiano signed with Juventus in 2018 with a lot of hype surrounding his move. While the player had a great run with the club in his three seasons in Turin, his exit left many disappointed at how things unfolded. Higher-ups at the club were not pleased with how CR7 handled his exit, with the player brute forcing his way out of the club.

Former Juventus players and his ex-teammates also added more to the fuel, with many claiming Cristiano Ronaldo forced the team to move away from their DNA. Juventus following the Portuguese’s exit has failed to get their hands on a single league title with their last trophy coming back in 2019-20. Since then, the best finish the team has produced has been fourth place, which is sub-par for a club of their standards. Do you think Cristiano Ronaldo is responsible for Juventus’ downfall?
