The 2023 summer transfer window is in its 11th hour. With the clock ticking, clubs are making one last push to bolster their ranks. For starters, Wrexham is already fragile after their star player Paul Mullin got injured. After all, Mullin was the linchpin in last season’s promotion from the National League with 38 goals. Indicating a panic situation, Wrexham Manager Phil ‘Parky’ Parkinson had then gone all out, saying, “It is a real blow for us. You can’t hide away from that.”

Likewise, Ryan Reynolds is also desperately making efforts to land a top-quality player for Wrexham before the window shuts. In fact, the actor is on the verge of making not one, but four super signings! Throughout the summer, they just made five signings. But now it seems the number is almost set to double as the $350 million rich Reynolds is breaking the bank.

Wrexham is in definite need of reinforcements. Wrexham’s goalscoring machine suffered four fractured ribs a small puncture of the lung after a nasty clash versus Manchester United goalkeeper Nathan Bishop during the club’s pre-season tour of the USA. Not mincing his words, Parky admitted, “I thought it was a clumsy challenge from the goalkeeper and it should have been a straight red. I can’t say any more than the fact I’m not happy with it at all.

Luckily, they have Reynolds as their owner, who once again came to save the third oldest club’s day. According to multiple reports, the Red Dragons are closing in on four super signings before the deadline.

The new signings are Millwall center-back George Evans and Arsenal goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, who have already made it official.

The list also includes their long-term target Brandon Hanlan, who is touted as the injured Mullin’s replacement, and Port Vale star Ellis Harrison.

Wrexham has seen two bids rejected for Hanlan. But now it seems they would be wrapping up with the final transfer, as the Wanderers star agreed personal terms. Indeed, this news is a big relief for all the Dragons’ fans as well as for the club. If they manage to pull the deals for all the aforementioned names, then it would be a heavenly start of September for Wrexham.

While there were doubts about Mullin’s return to the team, there’s a positive update regarding his situation. After a one-month absence, the 28-year-old has returned to non-contract training at Wrexham. After Wrexham’s penalty shoot-out loss to Bradford City in the Carabao Cup, Parkinson updated,

Mulls is back on the training ground. Each day he gets stronger. He has had a long period of inactivity. But he is out back running on the training ground, doing unopposed stuff, finishing etc. He is looking good.”
