Lionel Messi is currently leading the race to win his 8th Ballon d’Or. Soccer legend Thierry Henry also supported the Inter Miami star to win the prestigious trophy. However, the current soccer picture suggests Kylian Mbappe is already ready for the upcoming year. Mbappe has shattered Henry’s record in the Champions League by issuing a warning statement to other players. He is not ready to back down yet!

Kylian Mbappe’s brilliant performance helped PSG to win the game against AC Milan. Hopefully, Mbappe and Co. will hope to carry the same form forward as they look to win the elite competition for the first time in their club history. It’s ironic to witness Mbappe’s record emerge in the wake of Henry’s endorsement of the Argentine.

The Ballon d’Or race is currently the most trending topic in the soccer world. On the CBS show, the panelists asked the Arsenal legend about the deserving candidate to win the prestigious trophy this year. Despite being a former French soccer star, he has backed Lionel Messi over Mbappe to win his 8th Ballon d’Or trophy.

Speaking on the CBS show, Jamie Carragher asked Henry about his predictions about the 2023 Ballon d’Or winner. The French legend replied, “For me, Messi. Bye. Over.” After making this claim, Kylian Mbappe broke Henry’s record the next day!

He scored the opening goal as PSG defeated AC Milan 3-0 in the group-stage game. The goal also shows that Mbappe is irreplaceable at the moment in the team as he dribbled past the defender to slot it home. Notably, the goal also shattered a record held by Thierry Henry for a long time. Mbappe became the first French player to score in eight successive home games in the Champions League, breaking the record of Henry scoring in seven consecutive games.

The Paris Saint Germain star aims to become a Ballon d’Or top contender with outstanding performances this season. He is also aware that they need to compete more fearlessly to win the ultimate Champions League trophy. He also aims to win the Euros 2024 with France and claim another national trophy after the World Cup.

Mbappe aiming to win the Champions League and 2024 Euros

The Paris Saint Germain star has been a contender to win the Ballon d’Or every season. However, he never won the prestigious trophy because of his unsuccessful seasons with PSG. Due to this, he forced a move to Real Madrid in this summer transfer window. However, one might say that the ship has sailed.

Kylian Mbappe will also aim for success with the Euros in Germany next year. To put things into context, France qualified for the finals without any losses. The French forward scored six goals and provided three assists in six games. Significantly, France improved their round-of-16 finish in 2020. This time, the national team boasts a formidable ensemble of young talents such as Kylian Mbappe and Eduardo Camavinga, alongside seasoned players like Oliver Giroud and Kingsley Coman.
