The actress wrote, “Deeply inspired by the stories and insights shared at the Angel City Equity Summit as we fight for gender equity while celebrating the @fifawomensworldcup!”. Fatima Yousufi, the captain of Afghanistan’s women’s national soccer team, and Fatma Samoura, the Secretary-General of FIFA, were also present for several sessions during the summit.

She mainly thanked both of them for reminding everyone how sports can ‘accelerate change’ on and off the field. That Instagram post by Portman was acknowledged by over 36k people from across the globe. The popular actress will now be gearing up for the ‘EQUALIZE: The State of Play’ forum on August 14. Undoubtedly, her work toward empowering women’s sports is incredible, but that’s not the only thing she went viral for.
