On the heels of Nike’s decision to no longer use kangaroo leather in their soccer boots, a funny thing happened down under. Nike has recently made a shift to not use kangaroo leather for their shoe designs. This decision was made following pressure from animal rights activists and lawmakers.

Going forward, Nike’s shoe designs will no longer include kangaroo leather as part of any materials used. In a bizarre coincidence, a group of kangaroos invaded a soccer pitch during a game in Australia, just hours after the news of Nike’s decision was announced.
