Nebraska’s volleyball team, Cornhusker, hosted Omaha Mavericks with a sellout attendance of 92,003. It was not often that a college sporting event would draw such a large crowd, even though it was never a professional or international game. The five-time NCAA champions defeated Omaha Mavericks 3-0 in front of such a raucous crowd gaining the attention of millions around the world. Additionally, Nebraska surpassed the previous global record of attendance set in Spain when 91,648 supporters gathered for the UEFA Champions League semifinal between Barcelona and Wolfsburg in April 2022.
