Additionally, Nebraska surpassed the previous global record of attendance set in Spain when 91,648 supporters gathered for the UEFA Champions League semifinal between Barcelona and Wolfsburg in April 2022.
Meanwhile, when the women’s division was making waves after the World Cup 2023, Alex Morgan was witnessed defending Jenni Hermoso after an official’s inappropriate during the World Cup final presentation ceremony.
The USWNT veteran slams the Spanish Federation after a shocking incident
Previously, Alex Morgan was utterly disgusted by Spanish FA president Luis Rubiales’ kiss on Jenni Hermoso’s lips during the presentation ceremony of the World Cup 2023. This disgraceful occasion overshadowed Spain’s victory over England in the final, which created a significant buzz in the world of soccer.
Morgan called for strict action and criticized the Spanish Federation and the President on social media. The former Tottenham Hotspur striker remarked, “I stand by Hermoso and the Spanish players. Winning a World Cup should be one of the best moments in these players’ lives. But instead, it’s overshadowed by assault, misogyny, and failures by the Spanish federation,”. Morgan had always been outspoken for women’s empowerment in sports. And with such supportive gestures, she has made a strong statement.
