After years of struggling in the lower leagues of the English soccer pyramid, Wrexham AFC is finally moving to the EFL. The club was desperate to get into the fourth division, and their dreams are finally coming true. Ryan Reynolds’ team clinched an emphatic victory last night against Boreham Wood to seal their promotion in style.

It has been quite a journey for them, as now they’ll be playing in the EFL League 2. While they are still partying after their thrilling promotion, they got a congratulatory message from a former Manchester United and Wrexham AFC legend. And Reynolds has given a brilliant response to it.

Ryan Reynolds responds to former Wrexham legend

Everyone can’t get over Wrexham’s promotion to the fourth division. The whole soccer world has joined the Welsh side in celebrating their success. In the midst of receiving millions of wishes, Reynolds was congratulated by club legend Mickey Thomas. The former United player shared a video on Twitter where the whole stadium came onto the pitch.

Below the clip, Mickey wrote, “Party time. Wrexham AFC back in the football league. Thank you, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.” This heartfelt message was retweeted by Reynolds with a brilliant caption. He wrote, “Mickey knows this feeling.”

Reynolds hailed the former club legend, who had enjoyed quite a time at the club. Mickey played for six seasons at the club between 1972-78. During his time at the club, he made 230 appearances and scored 33 goals. Either way, the former Welsh winger was also happy to see his beloved side get promoted. Moreover, he also expressed his regard for Reynolds and McElhenney, who have done a terrific job for the club.

This isn’t the only thing that will make Mickey happy, as he’ll be on cloud nine, when both his former clubs play against each other.

Reynolds and his men will be looking to end the National League season on a high note. Only one game is left to play, and then the whole season of the National League will be over. The celebrations will follow after the campaign ends; however, after that, they will need to focus on the fixture against Manchester United.

Phil Parkinson’s side will travel to the United States for their pre-season friendly, where both sides will face each other. Moreover, the fixture will be played in San Diego on July 25th. It is definitely going to be a treat for soccer fans around the world.
