The Colombian had some interesting lines for Pique’s father, which could have urged the soccer star to pen the cryptic tweet.

In a recent interview with Billboard during Latin Music Week in Miami, Colombian pop superstar Shakira touched down on her return to the music industry. The star added that she is on a professional ‘honeymoon’ and in love with her profession. The singer also did not shy away from taking subtle digs towards her ex-boyfriend Gerard Pique.

“There are many things I want to say, things to prove musically, but the time will come. It turns out that I was less fragile than I thought, and music has been my main survival tool. I was surprised by the possibility of being able to make lemonade with the most sour lemons”, as compiled by El Heraldo and translated by DeepL.

The singer also touched down on her track with Bizarrap, which ranked second on Billboard’s Global 200 list. Shakira commented that while some people suggested that she change the lyrics. However, the singer was having none of it. “They told me to change the lyrics, that can’t come out. And I answered that I am not a United Nations diplomat. I am a woman, a wounded she-wolf.”

Following her split with Gerard Pique, Shakira has continued to take shots at the former Barcelona star. The singer targeted Pique’s father Joan Pique in her latest track, drawing a lot of attention. Pique, who is known for his random tweets on social media, following the release of the track, penned a cryptic tweet that could have been targeted at the singer.

Following the release of Shakira’s latest track, ‘El Jefe’, Pique once again penned a cryptic tweet. The star wrote “Os podeis ir a la mierda” which translates to “You can go to hell.” Fans believe that Pique’s tweet is aimed at Shakira who took a dig at his father in her recent track.

But what sparked such an abrupt reaction? The Colombian pop star had some hard lines for her ex’s father on her latest track. In the track the singer slammed Joan Pique, singing, “They say that there is no evil that lasts more than a hundred years. But there is still my ex-father-in-law who does not set foot in a grave.”
