In the last few months, Shakira has lit the music industry on fire. Through her hard-hitting diss tracks, the Waka-Waka singer has reignited her career too. In the span of two months, the Colombian singer released two billboard-topping diss tracks. After her first diss track garnered so much of praise, her second collaboration with Karol G had just burst onto the internet. However, a Paraguayan soccer star cut the praise short on social media.

Shakira’s critics tend to usually stand out quite differently from the rest. This is simply because the singer already has most of the fanbase on her side.

What criticism did Shakira receive?

This isn’t the first time when someone has criticized Shakira’s passion. However, it hasn’t been happening too often. Amidst all the drama and glory from her first diss track, the singer realized that it was time to release another one. While the fans were loving her collaboration with Karol G, a popular not-so-Shakira fan from the soccer universe grabbed everyone’s attention.

Amidst the praise, Roberto Ovelar had a few strong words to say. The Paraguayan soccer star took to Twitter to publicly share his criticism. Without any hesitation, Ovelar wrote, “Even if ‘invoice’ or whatever, it’s crap song”. Unsurprisingly, the soccer star received quite a bit of hate for his sudden comments on the ever-loved Shakira.

These days, non-Shakira fans still existing in the fanbase are hard to come by. Previously, popular names have stood up for her ex-boyfriend but they’ve then got slaughtered on social media. It is safe to say that the Colombian star’s rich legacy in the music industry is what is currently protecting her from all the heat.

Apart from that, let’s talk about the song that she released just hours before Overlar’s criticism.

After earning more than $2.5 million from her diss track with Bizarrap, Shakira decided to take her success one step further. She released a new track in collaboration with Karol G, a fellow-Colombian star. Even in this diss track, the Waka–Waka singer had absolutely no mercy on her ex-boyfriend. A few lines from the diss track are as follows.

“What are you doing looking for me, honey? If you know that I don’t repeat mistakes. Tell your new bae that I don’t compete for men. And to stop grudging, at least I had you pretty”, as per Billboard. This track received quite a lot of praise from the fans. Currently, the diss track has managed to garner a total of 474 million views on YouTube.
