Cristiano Ronaldo has been snubbed by FIFA. It released the nomination list for the World’s Best Player in 2023 and the Portuguese legend’s name is nowhere to be on it. The soccer star has been instrumental for Al Nassr in its Arab Club Champions Cup title win. Ronaldo won the final against an opposition who has been the most competitive side in the tournament. Though keeping all of this aside, the player is now focused on his next match as he pens a ‘four-word note’ before his next match.

Earlier, the 38-year-old soccer star was also left out of the nomination list for the Ballon d’Or. It’s the first time since 2003 that he has not received a nomination.

The international break is over and the players are back at their clubs. Cristiano Ronaldo after an early exit from Euro qualifiers looks determined to clinch wins in Saudi Pro League. The Portuguese soccer legend’s hunger for triumph remains unshaken as he sets his sights on leading Al Nassr to the pinnacle of the league standings.

The veteran made it a point to give the fanbase a glimpse of how he felt to be back. The Al Nassr winger posted an Instagram story with a four-word message. He wrote, “Happy to be back (Heart emojis)”. The image in the background was from a training session. The team faces Al Raed next before heading for their AFC Champions League campaign. Despite a shaky start, Al Nassr seems back on track with four consecutive wins in their last five fixtures. However, off-the-field controversies and snubs have Ronaldo’s name fixed on every news headline.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s teammate, Marcelo Brozovic, earned a nomination for the World’s Best Player on the back of his remarkable last season. During that, he featured in a run to the Champions League finals with Inter Milan. This achievement also marks Brozovic as the first Saudi Pro League player to be nominated for the award.
