Cristiano Ronaldo is a vital cog in Luis Castro‘s Al Nassr side. But the manager has other players who he deems indispensable too. Al Nassr has signed the likes of Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, Alex Telles, Marcelo Brozovic, and Aymeric Laporte. However, the club rejected bids for a player who is an “important pillar” of Castro’s side. This comes shortly after Ronaldo’s suspension for Portugal’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Luxembourg.
The player Castro referred to is Al Nassr defender Abdulelah Al-Amri, also known as Abdul-Ilah Al-Omari. The Brazilian gaffer considers the player a vital component of his squad, and he is firmly in Castro’s plans this season.

For Cristiano Ronaldo, however, it was a disappointing international break as he was forced to return to Saudi Arabia early because of a suspension. CR7 picked up a yellow card for a needless foul on Slovakia goalkeeper Martin Dubravka. In turn, this led to him missing out on the Luxembourg game.
Portugal romped to a 9-0 win over Luxembourg. Ronaldo’s ex-Manchester United teammate Bruno Fernandes was at the heart of Portugal’s performance. The United midfielder scored 1 goal and assisted 3 in the historic 9-0 rout for the A Seleção das Quinas. This is Portugal’s highest-ever margin of victory in a competitive match.
