Just hours ago, Al Nassr played their third game of the Saudi Pro League, in which they thrashed Al Fateh 5-0. It was quite an exciting match as Cristiano Ronaldo once again grabbed the limelight by scoring a hat trick. But as per reports, after the match, they received a knock on their door from Karim Benzema’s Al Ittihad for their 26-year-old star.

The summer transfer window closes in Europe on September 1, but Saudi Arabian clubs have time until September 20 to make moves. Although a majority of them are raiding the European market, Al Ittihad is exploring within their territory.

As odd as it sounds, despite having the financial muscle to get any European star, Al Ittihad is looking to buy an Al Nassr player. According to a journalist in the Al-Eqtisadiah Newspaper, their interest is in their 26-year-old defender, Abdulelah Al-Amri. The Riyadh side is keen to buy the center back’s remainder of the contract for 20 million riyals, or $53.3 million.

However, Al Nassr would not let Al-Amri leave for the reported fee. The Jeddah-based club is looking to scalp at least 30 million riyals, or $79.9 million. If they receive the stated amount, a deal may take place in the coming days. Notably, Al-Amri has a contract with Luis Castro’s side until 2024. He signed for Al Nassr in 2019 from Al Wedha.

So far, he has made just two appearances for Al Nassr this season. Additionally, the arrival of Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte has caused Al-Amri to lose his place in the starting XI. Perhaps this gives him a reason to make the switch. For now, nothing in principle has been agreed upon by either party.

As for Al Nassr, selling him would definitely help them recover some funds and even look to invest elsewhere. It remains to be seen what happens, but for now, let’s talk about Ronaldo’s hat trick.

A hat trick from the Portuguese superstar and a perfect brace from new signing Sadio Mane helped the Jeddah side steal three points. The win takes them to 10th place in the Saudi Pro League. It is their first positive start to the domestic tournament, having already gotten off on the wrong foot.

Luis Castro’s side lost the first two fixtures against Al Ettifaq and Al Taawoun. But they managed to bounce back and finally open their winning account in SPL. Notably, they also won the match even after loosing three stars due to injury. Certainly, they’ll be looking to keep their form intact in the upcoming fixtures.
