Taylor Swift‘s timing for her Eras Tour could not get more perfect. The singer was received by tremendous crowds in Argentina. But to add more flavor to the tour, Lionel Messi’s arrival in Argentina raised speculations about him possibly attending the concert. However, although he was absent, another singer ravished the crowd by taking their national hero’s name in a surprise move.
Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour was already making waves globally. A number of Swifties have been waiting impatiently for her since the tour was announced. But the concert in Argentina just went more berserk after mentioning Argentina’s most famous star on the planet at the moment.

The 33-year-old singer rescheduled the last concert due to weather issues. This also coincided with Messi’s arrival in the country for his national duties. Even though the Argentinian captain could not attend the concert, American singer Sabrina Carpenter surprised the fans by singing his name at the end of the concert. Sabrina, during her “Nonsense,” outro sang, “He’s having a ball; he call me Messi.”
Carpenter has been chosen to accompany Swift for some of her Eras Tour concerts. The 24-year-old did not disappoint with her innovation. The singer also sang a line where she asked Argentina to be her bestie. The crowd’s response was at another level after the lines were finished.

Swift had to push her last concert to a day as she thought the weather was not conducive for the fans and her crew. The ‘Anti-Hero’ singer announced, “We’ve rescheduled tonight’s Buenos Aires show for Sunday due to the weather being so truly chaotic it would be unsafe to try and put on this concert.” This lapse in time saw the Argentinian soccer maestro arrive in the same city.
Lionel Messi arrives in Argentina for national duties
The Argentina captain announced his arrival via Instagram, feeling good about being back in his country. Argentina is set to face two South American monsters to conclude a successful campaign so far. The team won all four matches in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers to put them first in the table.
