Pep Guardiola has been a cornerstone for Manchester City’s success since joining the club in 2016. The Spanish tactician has guided the Cityzens through multiple accolades during his eight-year stint with the club. However, it seems like his physical condition is starting to take a toll on the manager. Journalist Guillem Balagué provided an update on Guardiola while talking with BBC stating“I’m gonna give you an educated guess. His back hurts. He had an operation.”

While the Manchester City boss underwent an injury earlier last year, it seems like his back injury is still a persisting issue. Guardiola underwent back surgery in August 2023, with his assistant manager Juanma Lillo overseeing his duties for almost a month. With the manager’s deal with the club expiring come 2025, the upcoming season could probably be Pep Guardiola’s last at the Etihad.
