For the first time in history, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City has lost 4 premier league games in a row. They currently sit 11 points behind league leaders Liverpool, to whom they lost 2-0 on Sunday. Top scorer Erling Haaland took to Instagram to share an optimistic post but City forwards’ own words came back to bite him in the form of troll comments.

During Manchester City’s dramatic 2-2 draw with 10-man Arsenal at the Etihad, Erling Haaland was on full display, not only for his goal-scoring prowess but also for some prime antics. He riled up Arsenal fans by throwing the ball at Gabriel Magalhães’ head when Stones scored the last-minute equalizer. Then, during the post-match cooldown on the pitch, Haaland told Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to “stay humble.”

And karma truly struck hard for City, who didn’t win a premier league game in the entire month of November. The Norwegian’s comment section is now flooded with trolls saying just two words: “stay humble.” We don’t doubt that some of them are fans of a certain North London club. Since the Arsenal game, City have played 8 Premier League matches, with Haaland finding the back of the net only twice.

Pep’s ‘prodigy’, Mikel Arteta is having the last laugh as his Arsenal side is above the reigning champions. Manchester City’s winless streak has now reached 7 games, with Pep Guardiola’s side sitting 5th in the Premier League table and 17th in the new format of the Champions League table. With Opta’s supercomputer giving Manchester City just a 4.4% chance to win the Premier League, will Arne Slot make history?

Is this the year for Arne Slot and Liverpool?

Is Erling Haaland's 'stay humble' comment coming back to haunt Manchester City fans?

Ever since taking over the Merseyside club, Liverpool has lost only one game under their new Dutch manager, Arne Slot. He has already broken a few records, with his Liverpool side sitting at the top of both the Premier League and Champions League tables. While statistics and history suggest that the Reds are on track to win their 20th league title, we’ve seen time and time again that the race often comes down to the final matchday.

Former Everton player Tim Howard is among those who believe it’s too early to call dibs on winners. Hardcore football fans know that once December finishes, Manchester City has a habit of going on an unbeaten run, and having won the Premier League 6 times, in the last 7 years, The Kop will have to wait until the final whistle is blown at the end of the season.

Only two teams have been 9 or more points clear at the top of the Premier League table after 13 games. Manchester United in the 1993-94 season and Chelsea in 2005-05, and both sides went on to lift the title at the end of the season. With sports bettors backing Liverpool to be the team to end Manchester City’s dominance, only time will tell if either Pep Guardiola or Arne Slot will cement their names in the Premier League Hall of Fame.
