The future of Kylian Mbappe is the million-dollar question in soccer currently. The Frenchman is out of a contract in June 2024 and there is no guarantee that he will extend his stay with Paris Saint-Germain. However, a childhood idol of the French superstar has given an insight into his future at the club. As per Thierry Henry, the lethal striker likely will see out the full season with PSG and be professional.
With 18 goals in 20 games this campaign, the 24-year-old has been PSG’s main man in attack. Despite his issues with Luis Enrique, the Frenchman has been one of the first names on the team sheet and is the leading goalscorer in Ligue 1. PSG will be hoping for him to lead their title charge this season. But what if he decides to jump ships in January? His compatriot thinks not.

On UCL Today by CBS Sports Golazo, Thierry Henry said, “Personally, I do not see Kylian Mbappe leaving in January because of what he has shown me since the beginning of his career.” However, he did not rule out the PSG attacker leaving at the end of the season. He added, “You know I just think he (Kylian) is not that type of guy you know to do that, he might leave at the end of the season.” Moreover, he clarified that he is not aware of what PSG’s plan regarding their star man is. The Arsenal icon explained, “I’m talking about him. I don’t know what Paris would like to do. I don’t know”.
“I’m talking about the man. He always has been professional since he has been at Paris and he gave them two more years”, Henry concluded. His claims do give assurance to PSG fans, following shocking reports that speculate a January move for Mbappe to Real Madrid. Furthermore, the soccer pundit also revealed his desire to see the striker stay in Paris. However, it seems that not everyone shares the same sentiments.

Former Premier League star makes a bold Mbappe claim
Former England star Chris Waddle made heads turn with his claim regarding the French star’s potential outside Ligue 1. He said, “He’ll be even stronger when he leaves Ligue 1.” Moreover, he also gave a justification for his claim. Waddle said, “He constantly harasses them (defenders). His game is hard to read. You never know whether he’s going to go inside, shoot, or overrun.”
The Englishman knows quite well the differences between the two leagues having played for Marseille and Newcastle United, respectively. Additionally, the 24-year-old attacker has played 14 times against a Premier League side and has an impressive record of 6 goals and 3 assists. With Kylian Mbappe already having more UCL goals than Premier League greats like Sergio Aguero and Wayne Rooney, it is hard to disagree with Waddle’s claim.
