In soccer, even the brightest stars face moments of struggle. Goal-scoring machine Erling Haaland himself encountered a dip in form during a recent Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur. The striker is drawing attention and criticism for failing to find the back of the net. Yet, amidst the scrutiny, the Norwegian star received unexpected support with a claim that even the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi experienced periods of goal drought.
Notably, Haaland is currently the top scorer in the league, with 14 goals. Yet he is in the negative limelight for firing blanks against the Spurs.

In the latest podcast episode of “Rio Ferdinand Presents Five,” Erling Haaland became a topic of discussion among the panel of Joel Beya, Stephen Howson, and Ashley Williams. Interestingly, Beya underlined that Haaland missed ‘sitters’ against Spurs as he took just five shots, out of which not a single one was on target.
Beya then asked if there was a difference in the striker’s form this season, to which Howson replied, “Stop trying to roll an agenda up. Like he’s literally shi**ing goals left, right and Center. He gets a lot of chances so when he goes 0 and five, yeah, happens sometimes. Ronaldo and Messi go like 0 and 10 sometimes.”
Additionally, Williams also agreed with the presenter. He said, “I know he’s missing chances that you’d expect anyone to score but I still think he looks the same. He’s going to get back on the wagon soon.” Certainly, Haaland must be happy to get such support from the commentators.
,Meanwhile, Haaland finds himself in deep waters, as the City’s No. 9 is also on the verge of getting charged by the FA for his actions following the Spurs game.
