Erling Haaland has had a sensational start to his Premier League life as he clinched the treble with Manchester City last season. Coming second in the race for the Ballon d’Or, the 23-year-old Norwegian was unlucky not to clinch the award even after scoring 52 goals across all competitions. Additionally, Haaland is also the top scorer in the Premier League this season with 10 goals. Despite dominating the scoring charts, a former Scottish soccer star prefers the Norwegian’s teammate over him. Interestingly, he also ranks him at the top of Manchester City’s top-player list.

Apart from this, there’s a lot of other chatter going on. Despite Manchester City’s top form, Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez are said to have partnership problems. Citing the ongoing concern, Julian Alvarez gives his take as he tackles the question with a positive tone.

Pep Guardiola’s squad consists of some exceptional talents. From the likes of Kevin De Bruyne to Kyle Walker to Ederson, everyone plays like an elite in their position. But, there’s one star who shines stronger than them all. As per former Scottish soccer veteran, Ally McCoist, Manchester City’s $15 million rated defensive midfielder, Rodri, has been superb this season and has left a strong mark on the team.

The former Rangers man said, “I just think Rodri, since the start of the season he’s been superb”. He goes on to explain why as he adds, “He’s (Rodri) terrific. I mean David Silva, he’s one of the best players I’ve seen in years and years and years you think they’re not going to replace him, irreplaceable but they bring another fella in who looks equally as talented equally as comfortable and is such a hit with the fans.”

Praising the club’s recruitment, McCoist further adds, “You got to say City’s recruitment has been excellent although, I thought they were a little bit weaker beginning of the season no Mahrez, no Gundogan. I think of the key players, Haaland, De Bruyne, a goalkeeper is key to them as well, and has been massive to them.”
