The heavens have opened up on Inter Miami. After a disappointing end to the current season, the club from Miami has received an overwhelming gift, to say the least, from their new captain Lionel Messi. After Messi won the Ballon d’Or, David Beckham’s club will reap a substantial reward just for signing the Argentinean captain.

Inter Miami could not make it to this year’s MLS playoffs. Before Messi arrived, the team was lingering in the 15th spot. But guess what, you still get to flex Messi’s Ballon d’Or and benefit from it.

What’s the use if you do not make use of the potential you have? The World Cup winner already provided the club with its first trophy in soccer. Apart from that, he also boosted their financial impact in the market. However, the club is now poised to generate additional profit from Messi’s Ballon d’Or by selling newly designed merchandise, as stated in a report.

A noteworthy aspect of the merchandise is its focus on Messi’s 8th Ballon d’Or, with emphasis placed on the number. The reports indicate that they are already vending the commodities. Notably, the merchandise contains two Messi-themed t-shirts by Adidas. One is a black-colored t-shirt with El Mejor Del Mundo written on the front, which translates to the greatest in the World. And a number 10 on the back, with the number 1 having eight gold rings. The other is a white t-shirt listing the years the talisman won the award.

Messi won his eighth Ballon d’Or after leading his team to win the World Cup last year, scoring seven goals, including two in the final. Therefore, the Argentine captain won the Golden Ball. Messi also influenced Paris Saint Germain to win Ligue 1 and scored multiple goals and assists. The former Barcelona star then chose to move to Inter Miami, which not only brought them the Leagues Cup but also off-field benefits.

Lionel Messi is a goldmine for Inter Miami and MLS

After moving to Inter Miami, the captain accumulated solid revenue for the league and the club. Messi’s jersey is so universal that it broke the record for the highest sales in 24 hours for any athlete. Cristiano Ronaldo and Tom Brady previously held the record. However, the club looks to capitalize on this moment, which can generate an even larger output.
