Gerard Pique just can’t seem to catch a break. After the public separation from singer Shakira, the former Barcelona star has been embroiled in various controversies and diss tracks targeted at him by his former partner and mother of his two children. Now, it seems even international pop superstar Adele has taken a dig at Pique.

The English singer and songwriter has been performing a series of concerts in Las Vegas, as part of her ‘Weekends With Adele’. It was during this show Adele talked about Shakira and her ex. Adele is known for her scathing wit and sharp tongue, and she didn’t hold back when she took a dig at Shakira’s ex-husband, Gerard Pique.

The “Hello” singer was performing at her Las Vegas residency when she started talking about Shakira’s recent performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She agreed to have seen the memorable performance that Shakira put on with Bizarrap.

She then took a jab at Pique, saying, “Her ex-husband is in trouble,” with a smirk on her face. The whole arena erupted at the statement, and Adele had the crowd in stitches. Given the ongoing drama between Shakira and Pique, it’s not surprising that Adele would choose to weigh in on the situation with a joke. After all, Adele is no stranger to trolling her exes in her songs–remember “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)”?

Shakira’s performance definitely left millions impressed around the world and Adele was certainly one of them. In 2016, Shakira sat down for an interview with E! News to promote her then-upcoming movie Zootopia. During the interview, she answered a series of rapid-fire questions, one of which was to choose between Beyoncé and Adele.

Shakira hesitated for a moment before answering. Ultimately, Shakira chose Beyoncé over Adele, explaining that she had a good friendship with the singer. Given their history, it’s not surprising that Shakira would choose Beyonce over Adele.
