The entertainment world is under a cloud of sadness, with the unexpected death of Matthew Perry at the age of 54. While Perry’s devoted followers are in grief over the loss of a much-loved artist, revered names from the worlds of glamour and celebrity are stepping forward to pay their respects. The latest one to join is the former soccer wonder, David Beckham, who sent his condolences with an emotional message.

Perry was well-known for his depiction of Chandler Bing in the famous sitcom, F.R.I.E.N.D.S. His cause of death is presumably due to drowning after he was found dead in a hot tub at his home in Los Angeles.

David Beckham became the latest figure to mourn the sudden loss of Matthew Perry. After hearing about the passing of the actor, the Inter Miami owner quickly took to Instagram and shared his feelings. Beckham added not one but two Instagram stories for Perry. In the first story, aside from the actor’s laughing image in white and black, he wrote, “It’s just so sad. We’ll miss this laugh,” while adding a heartbroken emoji.

The former England international then added another picture of Perry from one of the episodes of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Aside from the snap, he again added a heartbroken emoji and wrote, “Heartbreaking. Thank you for all the laughs, Chandler Bing.” While hailing Perry’s central role in the beloved sitcom, Beckham acknowledged the legendary actor will be missed.

It is quite remarkable to see the impact Perry left with his wit and sarcasm, especially on Beckham, who wrote quite an emotional message. In fact, DB7 is a big ‘Friends’ fan.

David Beckham’s affection for Matthew Perry’s character, Chandler Bing, and the TV show “Friends” runs deep. In 2020, the former soccer star and his wife, Victoria Beckham, made headlines during a walk. Interestingly, Becks was wearing a T-shirt featuring an iconic scene recognizable to any fans of the show. The scene in question was the one where Joey dons all of Chandler’s clothes simultaneously, as seen in the episode titled “The One Where No One’s Ready.” The t-shirt was appreciated by Perry, who shared it on his Instagram story.

This wasn’t the first time Beckham expressed his fondness for “Friends.” He had previously shared a photo of himself smiling with his daughter, Harper, proudly displaying a “Friends”-themed gift she had given him. The gift was a hoodie featuring Joey’s famous pickup line, “How you doin’?” Certainly, the Manchester United icon will miss the actor alongside millions.
