Popular rumors in the soccer world had it that Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah could pair up with Cristiano Ronaldo in Al Nassr. These rumors subsided when Al Ittihad emerged as Saudi Pro League’s major runner to pursue Salah. The Public Investment Fund-backed club set a world-record $270 million offer for the Egyptian forward. But Liverpool had no plans to sell their ace striker. Anyhow, in light of Al Ittihad’s mammoth offer, the Saudi League is still widely believed to be Salah’s next destination. His ex-teammate and Al Ittihad star Fabinho, however, does not see Salah’s Saudi move happening soon.
Al Ittihad and other Saudi League clubs are now buckling up for new signings in the January transfer window. With Mo Salah taking center stage in transfer discourses yet again, Fabinho was asked to comment on the former’s potential move to Saudi Arabia. Here is how the Al Ittihad star responded.

In an interview with The National News, Fabinho revealed that he still closely follows his former team Liverpool. He said that he is happy for Jurgen Klopp‘s side as they now sit at the top of the Premier League table. Soon, the Brazilian had to comment on Liverpool star Mohamed Salah and his potential switch to the SPL. “At this moment, Mo Salah is happy at Liverpool. He’s scoring goals every game, as usual he’s been their best player. So I’m very happy for Mo. This season he will stay at Liverpool, so I wish him all the best and that he keeps scoring goals and winning trophies with Liverpool”, said Fabinho.
Mohamed Salah’s contract will see him don Liverpool colors for yet another season. Besides, the Egyptian’s exploits at Liverpool also prove that the star is happy with his current Premier League stint. Given the 31-year-old’s skillful adaptation to a new role at the club, Jurgen Klopp and Co. will never think of letting him go elsewhere.
