“He Was About To Marry Another..” – Amid Struggle Due to Ailing Parents, Shakira Slammed for Breaking Gerard Pique’s Potential Marriage Back in 2011

Amid the struggles Shakira found with ailing parents, she not long ago got international attention for her high-profile split from Gerard Pique in 2022. Shakira and Gerard Pique were together for 11 years. It was back in June when the two had decided to break up.

While the two were together, they were blessed with two children and were extremely happy. However, in the later months of their relationship, the couple started to have differences and finally decided to separate. Pique left Shakira and chose Clara Chia Marti over her. Since then, the two have been involved in various personal dramas.

Shakira even released a diss track against her former lover. However, recently she was slammed for breaking up Gerard Pique’s marriage back in 2011.

Shakira was criticized for breaking a potential marriage

The accusation comes from Swizz author Alessandro Lecquio. Lecquio took some harsh digs while speaking on a Spanish TV program. “I love Shakira, but she is flagging a breakup, which is something that most of the population has gone through,” Lecquio said. “Betrayals and breakups have nothing to do with being a man or a woman, they are circumstances of life”.

Lecquio also brought up that Shakira took away Pique’s potential marriage to another woman named Nuria Tomas. Pique and Tomas Both started dating back in 2009. However, the relationship was cut short as the ex-Barcelona star left Tomas for the Colombian singer in 2011.

It was said that Pique was about to tie the knot with his then-girlfriend when Shakira came into the picture. Thus, in the words of Mr. Lecquio: “When she left with Pique, he was about to marry another lady and she took it away. Now, she is a feminist. She was the other one. Maybe she also broke a family project for Nuria Tomás”.

Since then, Nuria Tomas appears to have moved on because she recently announced her marriage and is living a happy life with her better half and two children. It is still to be seen if Shakira will reply to these accusations, but as of now, the singer has her hands full with supporting her parents.

Shakira’s hands are full with her parents’ health conditions

Shakira has been dealing with two major health issues in her family recently. Her mother recently had a blood clot that required medical attention and hospitalization but is thankfully now out of danger and under observation.

Her father also sustained severe head trauma from a fall, which required surgery. Fortunately, he is now stable, although still needs occasional check-ups in the hospital. Shakira has experienced tough times due to these health concerns within her family, on top of the separation struggles and feuds.
