Wrexham AFC continues to prepare for its new season. The Welsh club is desperate to begin its new season ASAP and is already looking to improve. After clinching promotion to EFL League Two, they are eyeing back-to-back promotions. Hence, in order to cement their chances of doing that, they are looking to bolster their squad.
Their first step towards development has been revamping the squad. They also handed over new contracts to their best players, with Ben Foster being the latest one. Speaking of Foster, the goalkeeper also seems to have become a part-time Wrexham scout, as he recently urged a former Manchester United star to join him at Racecourse Ground.

Foster’s impact at Wrexham has been surreal, and it seems he is looking to cement his influence at the club even more. This comes after the goalkeeper recently asked former Portuguese star Nani to join Ryan Reynolds’ side. In the latest episode of his YouTube vlogging channel, The Cycling GK, Foster was seen having a conversation with the ex-winger.
Both took part in Soccer Aid’s annual match that took place in the Theater of Dreams. After the match, Foster, as usual, took out his camera and started vlogging. While celebrating the win, Nani teased he will be tempted to receive a 12-month deal from the Red Dragons. It was then, Foster said, “Nani hasn’t got a club everybody. I think he should come to Wrexham. Do you want to come to Wrexham?”
Without any delay, the ex-teammate of Ronaldo replied, “You never know.” His words didn’t convince Foster, as he turned the camera towards himself and said, “liar.” But Nani simply responded with a sarky smile. Perhaps it is a message for Reynolds to try signing the 36-year-old.
He is currently a free agent after his contract at Melbourne Victory expired. While Nani’s future is yet unknown, Foster announced his future by signing an extension.
Another season for Foster at Wrexham
There was extensive discussion regarding Foster’s suitability to continue his tenure with the club. Nevertheless, despite the doubts, the 40-year-old has decided to remain part of the team, granting fans the chance to witness his goalkeeping prowess in the forthcoming season. This noteworthy announcement was conveyed through his Instagram profile.

The goalkeeper joined the team as a last-minute signing. He stepped in for the injured first-choice goalkeeper, Rob Lainton, towards the end of the previous season. Foster played eight matches, in which he managed to secure his side an automatic promotion to the football league. He’ll be looking to repeat the feat in the fourth division as well.
